London Mural Festival

London is having a makeover!

Street Art London
Canary Wharf Bridge

During September, the city of London is hosting the first ever London Mural Festival with over 150 artists from all over the world putting their art on walls across the capital.

This is a privately run initiative by Global Street Art with a mission of living in painted cities. Over 500 artists applied to be part of the festival. Walls, buildings, doors, barges, shutters, whole streets and even bridges are coming to life and bursting into colour across London.

The pieces come in different shapes and sizes ranging from portraits of the locals with stories to tell, to optical patterns that shrink and elongate with movement. From zany colourful block schemes to messages; some to make you smile and some to make you think. From pieces highlighting plights of indigenous people to pieces to keep your mind busy. From splashing vibrant colours on air vents to projecting the beauty of the natural world. From doodling to fine art!

The festival is bringing a colourful boom to London at a time when it is difficult to pop into galleries.. The festival showcases different art forms and art from both national and international artists and keeps London at the top of its game in the world of street art.
